Today your Chapter Executive Committee sent a letter to Mr. Jim Drinan, Executive Director of APA asking him to consider New Orleans as the venue for the 2018 National Planning Conference. This opportunity arose after indecision occurred in Florida, between Miami and Orlando. The Louisiana Chapter is simply requesting to host the 2018 conference in New Orleans. The letter is a PDF file which you may view here.

Hi Lydia and Ed,
I am delighted to inform you that after careful deliberation, the Chapter Presidents Council Grants Committee has decided to fund the Chapter’s 2014 2nd cycle grant request in the amount of $3,800. The success of your Chapter’s application attests to the merit of the project’s purpose and the soundness of the plan for implementation.

Over the last weekend in September I had the opportunity to attend the annual American Planning Association’s Policy and Advocacy Conference, Advance Planning, in Washington, D.C. along with our APA Louisiana Chapter President, Ms. Lydia Jemison and Mr. Steve Villavaso. This was my first visit to D.C. and the Policy and Advocacy Conference and the trip was an amazing introduction to both.
