Policy & Advocacy Conference Scholarship

Washington, D.C. | Sept. 18-20, 2016

The APA Fall Policy and Advocacy Conference is a competitive merit-based scholarship in the form of reimbursable expenses for the purposes of accompanying the APA LA President to the annual APA Fall Policy and Advocacy Conference in Washington D. C. It is subject to the following criteria:

  1. The APA LA member is an active member of the chapter in good standing.
  2. Graduates of the APA Leadership Experience shall be preferred recipients of this scholarship. 
  3. Employer would not fund the member to attend the APA Fall Leadership Conference.
  4. Member has volunteered at the APA LA annual conference or other chapter activity.
  5. Member submits a request 50-words or less for the APA Fall Leadership Conference scholarship directed to the APA LA Chapter President no less than 90 days before the starting date of the Fall Leadership Conference. The APA LA Executive Committee may award the scholarship to the member that best meets the above referenced criteria. The APA LA Chapter President shall issue an award letter to the recipient along with the amount of the award as set by the approved APA LA budget.  
  6. Member agrees to write an article summarizing an aspect of the planning conference of their choice for the APA LA website/newsletter a minimum of 200 words or more with photographs of the event to be submitted no later than two weeks following the closing date of the conference
  7. Member submits a completed travel expense report to the APA LA President with receipts for reimbursement for airfare, hotel and registration expenses. The newsletter article must be submitted with the expense report before the reimbursement can be processed.
