2021 Annual Conference

Wednesday, October 27, 2021 to Friday, October 29, 2021

The 2021 State Planning Conference in Lafayette is now history but was a terrific success. Attendees enjoyed the opportunity to again meet each other face to face after nearly two years of isolation and virtual meetings. Portions of the conference were video recorded and they will eventually be processed and posted here. (Be patient, we're all volunteers here.) For now please enjoy these photos.

Awards Program Photos

The awards program included recipients both from the current year and also from 2020 since those awards had to be awarded by virtual meeting and delivered by snail mail. In person is so much better so we can celebrate with the recipients!

Get ready for a return trip to Lafayette. Moncus Park opens to the public in January!

Conference Program

The APA-LA chapter's state conference will address the new or unique partnerships that are being formed within the planning community. The conference will address sustainability, transportation, community engagement, water, coastal restoration, along with several mobile workshops and unique opportunities to explore the Lafayette area.  This collective is the beginning of an artistic corridor throughout the region, which will showcase the unique Acadian talent.  Attendees will be able to see how makers and small businesses can create sustainable and economic development for a rural area.

Check out this 1-page overview of the conference summarizing all of the activities.
