As the flood waters from torrential rains recede from south Louisiana, thousands are affected and in need of assistance. Numerous tip sheets and FAQs are circulating. Below are links to a few.

- Rental payments for temporary housing.
- Grants for home repairs and replacement of essential household items not covered by insurance to make dwelling safe, sanitary and functional.
- Grants to replace personal property and help meet medical, dental, funeral, transportation and other serious disaster-related needs.
- Unemployment payments for up to 26 weeks for workers who temporarily lost jobs because of the disaster and do NOT qualify for state benefits.
- SBA loans: Up to $200,000 for repairs and $40,000 for personal property.You must apply for FEMA first.
- Maximum FEMA grant is $33,000.
