The August-September issue of Planning magazine again has a whopping 8-page article featuring Louisiana. In this special issue on climate, the publication includes a discussion on land loss and an article by Emilie Bahr, AICP entitled "Coping with Loss" describes the predicament of the Isle de Jean Charles community and ongoing relocation efforts. Subsequent pages go on to describe the Louisiana Office of Community Development's LA SAFE program.

The Louisiana Chapter of the American Planning Association, the Imperial Calcasieu Regional Planning, and Development District and the Acadiana Planning Commission are co-hosting a Planning Commissioner Workshop on Saturday, August 25, 2018, in Lafayette, Louisiana. This workshop is to help new commissioners and board of adjustment members meet the requirements of Act 859 (RS 33:103.1).
